Bank Vault Timer Clock
with 3 timers.
circa 1920

At night when they would close the bank, they would set the timer and no one could open the vault until the preset time had elapsed. The reason they had more than one clock mechanism was in case one of them stopped running, you would still be able to open the vault. It would have been extremely unlikely that all 3 could fail at the same time. If that ever happened, they would have no choice but to contact someone like Jesse James, or Al Capone to open it for them.
